What is a cake Smash

Well....

A cake smash is held at the end of a fabulous 1st birthday photoshoot, all the beautiful photos have been taken, your child in his/her gorgeous birthday clothes.
Little girls in tutu and pearls, little boys dressed in their best...

Then... Out comes the cake!!

Gorgeous Harley was up for anything, the messier the better AND so was daddy.
The lovely cake was dipped into by Harley, but that wasn't messy enough for daddy, 
he proceeded to scoop out the middle of the cake and add...
 Chocolate Yoghurt...very runny, very messy and great fun!!

Princess Reeva on the other hand liked to examine her cake, squish her hands into the firm icing and feel it go squidgy through her fingers, she was having a fab time eating this specially made cake and NO-ONE was going to take it off her.
Gorgeous child, beautiful images, I ended up having a 40 x 30 canvas made for the studio, it makes me smile every day.

Finally, the little one is wiped down and taken home for a bath and a well earned rest, the images are edited and shown in the studio a week or 2 later when mummy and daddy choose their wall portraits.
All framed images are hand made by a local craftsman in beautiful quality frames.
Every time I pick up the framed portraits, I marvel at how amazing the finished product looks, and cant wait to see them on the walls.

Boudoir and Pin up Photography for REAL women, recent photos.

Oooh, so many things to blog about today, I thought I'd start with the fabulous Boudoir Party hosted by Rachel in Blackpool last week. 
The party was a combination of a virgin vie and a boudoir party and attended by 8 guests, all real women, most without the confidence to participate in the boudoir party. However, after the photos of the 3 ladies wanting their photos taken had been shown to the rest of the group, 2 women wished they had had theirs taken, and decided that it would be better for them to have a private session at home.

My Lighting assistant Helen and I prepare the room with gorgeous bedding and sumptuous materials, and the girls prepare what they are going to wear...
and then the big question..
WHO GOES FIRST.. always a big debate!!

Rachel decided to go first and soon got into the swing of things, we played music from her I pod and once I'd shown her some of the photos on the camera, she knew she looked amazing and she gained her confidence.

 As these are to be a gift to her husband I have had to delete him from my facebook page, I'll add him again after Christmas... Bless...

The next blog will be about Gemma, who is 23 and gorgeous and took to Boudoir like a fish to water... She was only self conscious for a couple of minutes then, wow, did we have some fun. Poor Helen was running around with all sorts of different lighting effects to get just the right pictures... What a fab Job..
