Well, what can I say, we had an amazing number of entries to our Christmas model competition, the lucky winners received a free photoshoot and some lovely images for themselves.

A BIG thankyou to our winning models who, I must say, showed 'model' behaviour (see what I did there)? ha ha.

Also a great big thankyou to all our customers in 2018, I cant wait to see what 2019 brings us.

February Already... Half Term Offer

I cant believe its February already.

I'm getting into the swing of things and marketing my business, but I forget I have to do it 2 months in advance ha ha. Im sure I will get there in the end.

Its half term next week in Blackpool, from 13th Feb - 23rd Feb, so, although I'm a bit on the late side, I have decided to have a fab half term offer.

Easy on the pocket, a great laugh and a mothers day or Easter present ready made (I am so thoughtful he he).

Come and join me for a fun packed session with your little (big) ones, do your hair and make up and let this be your once a year day when you are officially recorded with the kids for family halls of fame.
I look back on my family photos, when professional photography wasn't as affordable, and am hard pushed to find any of me with the kids. It was always me taking the photos, so either, we got a blurred image of me that one of the kids took or none at all.
Now, this is all well and good, but, how can I now prove that I actually look better with age (its true, honest).

The Olden Days

2015 Newborns

I've had lots of little dudes in the studio over the past few weeks, all boys.
Now, I love boys, they are squidgy, cuddly and downright gorgeous, and when they are older they are so loving, cheeky and mischievous, but I think its about time we had some little girls in.
I've knitted an Easter chick outfit for tomorrows little boy, but want to try out my Easter bonnet,  I'm not sure Olivers mummy and daddy will let me put a bonnet on him!!!
Come on girlies, we need to catch up :-)

I love knitting and crocheting new props for my newborn photography shoots, It means that nobody else has the same EVER he he, I like to be a bit different.

Family Photos

If you would like to arrange a themed shoot, or have any ideas for a family shoot that is different, or totally you, just let me know. The studio can be arranged and dressed in any way we choose, now that is original.

New Photography Studio in Bispham Blackpool

I am so excited, my new studio opens tomorrow 4th Feb 2014, well, I say it opens, I have the keys, and tomorrow, me, my friend and one of my sons will be moving my furniture in to create the Dove Photography Studio.
It wont take much as its lovely as it is, I just need a little bit of creativity, some backdrops, lights, my big red leather Chesterfield chair and... Voila...

It all started when I went for a crochet lesson. I called in at a lovely craft shop on Red Bank Road in Bispham Blackpool.
Like a lot of crafty women, I cannot walk past a wool shop without drooling (sad I know) over gorgeous colours and textures of new yarn. I wouldn't mind, but I have bags full of fabric and wool, gadgets and needles in my loft.
I only wanted to look (hmmm, Iv'e said that before ha ha).

Anyway, somehow Wendy (the craft shop owner) and I got chatting about crochet, before I knew it I had booked myself a lesson.
(I can actually crochet (lol) but needed to be able to finish off the ends of rows).

An hours lesson turned into 3, chatting and crocheting non stop and as I was leaving I decided to ask if she wanted someone in her shop. She said yes and that was it!!!

I actually did go away and think about it, 2 days is a long time for me to think about something so deeply, I showed my friend and my children, then decided to go for it. You only have one life, no point in getting old and wishing you had done it and not just talked about it.

This is how I saw the space whilst I was having my crochet lesson.

I fell in love with it. My signage is now up and Im raring to go.

All I have to do now is fill it with gorgeous New Born babies in baskets, Mums to be, families and surprisingly,doggies.

Yes, one of the first people to book a shoot is the owner of a fabulous little pooch. How exciting.

Well, I have to go and pack all my lovely gear ready for tomorrow...

Blackpool Boudoir for REAL women.. 2nd blog!!

In my earlier blog, I mentioned the Boudoir Party held by Rachel, and showed a few photos of her, now I'm moving on to Gemma!!!

Gemma brought all sorts of props, Anne Summers must have had a field day...
gorgeous underwear, a pair of fluffy handcuffs, we had a beautiful fan and a fab feather Boa, long gloves & amazing shoes wow... fantastic!!


We had a great time, and Helen my lighting assistant (a good Catholic girl) was lighting all sorts of poses, ... the quote of the night had to be...
"perhaps we could handcuff her to the bed"? lol... (followed swiftly by 2 Hail Marys ha ha).

Boudoir Parties are all about having fun and enjoying yourself, they are also an amazing confidence booster as you actually have to face up to the fact that you DO look good (nearly) naked.
Gok Wan had the right idea with his How to look good naked series, I think every woman should have a Boudoir shoot and see herself as others see her.. Beautiful!!!

Anyway, enough of the chat, lets get down to some of the photos.

Gemma is more than happy for me to show her pictures, so here goes.

When you have your Boudoir party, or individual Boudoir shoot, you can bare as little or as much as you dare. There is no pressure at all, its how comfortable you feel that is important!!
